Materials located in the Special Collections
and Archives Department reside in secure, locked areas. The Special Collections
librarian will assist researchers by locating items or describing other
scholarly resources--either at the Poynter Library or elsewhere--that may
be helpful.

As a service to USF faculty, the
Special Collections librarian can arrange meetings with students in your class
to describe
library and archival resources available, as well as how to incorporate
Special Collections materials into academic research projects. For
more information please call or email the
librarian to set an appointment.

| Oral History Education |
|
| Since 1993, the Special Collections
and Archives Department has collected and preserved oral history interviews
that document
life along the west coast of central Florida. To assist USF students
and other scholars who wish to interview members of the community, the
Special Collections librarian offers occasional workshops and instructional
sessions on oral history interviewing techniques.
In addition, an on-line version of our oral history
handbook is available by clicking here. |
