Academic Search Premier

This large multidisciplinary database includes full-text for approximately 4,500 journals, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications.  Searchable cited references are also included for 1,000 titles.

Access World News

Full-text access to major national and international newspapers.  Includes Florida titles such as the St. Petersburg Times, the Tampa Tribune, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, the Bradenton Herald, the Orlando Sentinel, and the Miami Herald.

CQ Researcher

Produced by the highly respected publisher Congressional Quarterly, this is an excellent starting point for researching "hot topics."

Expanded Academic ASAP

Indexes approximately 3,500 journals including 2,100 peer-reviewed titles.  Many citations lead directly to full-text links.  Coverage goes back to 1980.

Google Scholar

Broad indexing to a variety of scholarly information including journal articles, theses, books, preprints, and other scholarly publications.  Note that the Libraries of the USF System may have access to the full-text of many of the articles through the e-journal collections but direct links may not work from off campus.  Check the Libraries of the USF System E-journal search site to see if online access is available through USF resources.

LexisNexis Academic

Full-text access to major national and international newspapers, business information, and legal documents.

Reader's Guide Full Text

Fast and easy access to current news articles and popular magazines.  Many citations link to the full text of the article. 

Reader's Guide Retrospective

Historical indexing to many popular magazines published in the United States since 1890.

Wilson Omnifile Full Text Mega Edition

A large multi-disciplinary resource indexing research on a wide variety of subjects.  Many citations link to the full-text of the article.  Searches are easily limited to peer-reviewed journals. Coverage goes back to 1982.

Web of Science

Includes Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index.  One of the most comprehensive databases with indexing to more than 5900 journals.   This resource may be best known for its extensive forward and backward links to cited references.  Also links to full-text articles when available through USF subscriptions. 1900-date.

World News Connection

This global news service provides access to translated or English-language news. Information is provided by analysts at the Open Source Center (OSC). Most articles include the entire text or translation. 

E-journal collections

Annual Reviews

Searchable full-text access to the entire content of 33 Annual Review titles.

Blackwell Synergy

Searchable access to the journals from Blackwell Publishing.

Directory of Open Access Journals

Provides full-text access to free scientific and scholarly journals.  More than 2500 journal titles are included in this resource with approximately 750 of them searchable at the article level.

HighWire Press

A partnership between Stanford University Libraries and influential scholarly societies, university presses, and publishers, HighWire provides searchable, full-text access to  a large number of the 200 most frequently cited journals.

JSTOR

This unique resource was created to provide searchable, full-text access to the older editions of a vast number of scholarly journals.  Coverage goes back to volume one of the journal but does not include the most recent few years of the title. Biology, general science, and ecology are two areas of concentration within this resource.  Some titles date as far back as the 17th and 18th centuries.

OCLC ECO: Electronic Collections Online

A large, searchable database with full-text articles from a wide variety of journals and publishers.

Open J-Gate

Links to more than 4400 open access journals

Project Muse

Provides the full-text of more than 300 scholarly journals in the arts and humanities. 


ScienceDirect

A searchable collection of more than 1,000 Elsevier science journals. Also provides access to articles that are in press but not yet published in the print version.


SpringerLink

Searchable access to the journals from Springer.

Wiley Interscience

Searchable access to the journals from John Wiley & Sons.
