Each abstract describes the article's major findings and theoretical and practical implications. It should be noted that the editors advise using the online version, since it contains many thousands of abstracts that were never published in the print edition.

National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts Database (NCJRS)
A bibliographic file of annotated citations from the collection of the National Criminal Justice Reference Service. NCJRS is an international clearinghouse of information about criminal justice and law enforcement sponsored by the National Institute of Justice, a division of the U.S. Department of Justice. About half the material is from government documents and reports, while a third represents journal articles. Poynter Library has the full-text microfiche collection (up to 1989 only) to many of the items in the NCJRS index.
