To find information on controversial issues, use the USF Library catalog for books and the databases ExpandedAcademic ASAP or Wilson OmniFile Full Text Mega Edition (on the Libraries of the USF System Web Site) for journal articles. In each case, use the subheading “social aspects” to bring up relevant materials (e.g., “abortion and social aspects,” “gun control and social aspects,” etc.).
Books on how to prepare a speech can be found on the third floor of the library grouped under the classification number PN4121.
Opposing Viewpoints
Excellent contemporary materials on various “hot topic” subjects are published in this series. Use a keyword search “opposing viewpoints” in the library catalog for an alphabetical list of topics; all the titles are available for check-out.
