Finding Articles (Databases):

ERIC (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts). 1967 to date.

Probably the foremost index in education, comprising of CIJE (citations and summaries of journal articles) and RIE (citations and summaries for the ERIC document collection).

PsycINFO (Ebsco). 1887 to date.

PsycINFO covers, in addition, dissertations, books, and foreign-language journals. However, it does not deliver the full text of indexed materials; instead use SFX (see below) to access the full text article.

WilsonOmniFile Full-Text. 1994 to date. WilsonWeb

This multidisciplinary database delivers full-text articles published by the H. W. Wilson Company. Since a good many of the most popular education journals are indexed in one or more of these indexes, WilsonOmniFile is a good source for educational subjects.

Dictionaries and Encyclopedias:

Comprehensive resource on the dynamic and conflicting ideas, knowledge, and theories regarding educational leadership and school administration.

Practically oriented summative information to help school administrators, supervisors, and school board members.

Over 2,600 terms, alphabetically arranged, relating to educational research,
practice, and theory. Includes significant laws and court cases but no biographies. An extensive bibliography is at the back.

Short entries, alphabetically arranged, describe over 500 terms. Each term is

Created by the National Council on Teacher Quality this database to provide a glimpse into the collective bargaining agreements for the 50 largest school systems in the United States. It allows users to sort data from teacher contracts in hundreds of ways.

Guides:

Divided into two parts, Educational Curriculum and Educational Psychology and Administration, this title provides information about the publishing requirements of those journals covering relevant topics in education.

Strategies for assembling a resume with 100 samples for classroom teachers, administrators, university faculty, and corporate trainers.

Gives certification requirements for the positions of both school principal and district superintendent in all fifty states. A list of state education agencies is at the back.

Directories:

A guide to over 90 professions in education, including overseas teaching. Appendices include professional associations, state licensure agencies, and Internet resources. Index at the back..
