Probably the foremost index in education, comprising of CIJE (citations and summaries of journal articles) and RIE (citations and summaries for the ERIC document collection).
PsycINFO (Ebsco). 1887 to date.
PsycINFO covers, in addition, dissertations, books, and foreign-language journals. However, it does not deliver the full text of indexed materials; instead use SFX (see below) to access the full text article.

This multidisciplinary database delivers full-text articles published by the H. W. Wilson Company. Since a good many of the most popular education journals are indexed in one or more of these indexes, WilsonOmniFile is a good source for educational subjects.
