Educational Curriculum and Instruction

Prepared by K. Townsend, 2007

Finding Articles (Key Databases):

ERIC (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts). 1967 to date.

Probably the foremost index in education, consisting of CIJE (citations and summaries of journal articles) and RIE (citations and summaries for the ERIC document collection).

PsycINFO (Ebsco). 1887 to date.

PsycINFO covers, in addition, dissertations, books, and foreign-language journals. However, it does not deliver the full text of indexed materials; instead use SFX (see below) to access the electronic version of articles.

WilsonOmniFile Full-Text. 1994 to date. WilsonWeb

This multidisciplinary database delivers full-text articles published by the H. W. Wilson Company. Since a good many of the most popular education journals are indexed in one or more of these indexes, WilsonOmniFile is a good source for educational subjects.

For more suggested databases related to education go to the Education Subject Guide

Finding Electronic Full-Text Articles:

SFX is a linking tool to either connect you to the electronic full text version of journal articles or help your find the print version in the Libraries of the USF System Online Catalog. In a database, click on the SFX button and a new window will appear outlining the databases that provide access to the electronic full text. If this is not available, click on the USF Library Catalog for print holdings information, or click on the Inter Library Loan link to order the article from another library.

Finding Books:

Information on this topic can be found by searching the Libraries of the USF System Catalog under the Subject Keyword Curriculum. Most of these titles are located on the third floor of the library under the base classification number LB2806 .I5.
