Renewals:
Recreational Reading, Reserve materials, and interlibrary loan books may not be renewed. Other materials may be renewed unless they have been requested by another patron. All loaned materials, renewed or otherwise, are subject to recall if the material is requested by another person. Materials to be renewed should be brought to the Circulation Desk (with current ID), or faculty, staff and students may renew their materials electronically via the Libraries of the USF System Online Renewal web site. No renewals are possible by telephone or without current ID. To renew your library materials electronically click here:
Please note: When renewing online it is the patron's responsibility to ensure that items are renewed successfully, to note the new due date and to keep a copy of the renewal transactions in case of errors. Items not renewed electronically must be brought to the library for renewal or return. Loans cannot be renewed electronically if ID is not current, materials are overdue, or fines are owed.
Recall Policy:
All library materials, excluding Reserve items, may be recalled at any time. Recall of an item may shorten the original loan period. Recalled items must be returned by the due date specified in the recall notice. The recall process is strictly enforced and failure to receive or acknowledge a recall notice does not absolve a borrower from the responsibility to return the library material.
The recall policy is in effect all year long, including semester breaks, vacations, sabbaticals, authorized leaves, etc. All library users, including faculty and University staff, are expected to comply with the recall policy. Patrons can return materials via the exterior book drop when the library is closed.
Items not returned by the recall due date may be billed the replacement cost and a $10.00 overdue fine per item. The replacement cost is cancelled when the item is returned undamaged.
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to moniter their library records through the online renewal feature.
Recall notices are sent through U.S. or campus mail. Borrowers should be sure that their library system mailing addresses are valid at all times.
This policy is in place to ensure that all Nelson Poynter Memorial Library patrons have timely access to library materials.
