Distance Learning and Instructional Media Services strives to ensure that both our website and the courses created with support from our office are accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities. Designing online courses with accessibility in mind is one of the best ways to ensure that all students are able to engage in the educational opportunities available at USF SP, including those with disabilities. Incorporating accessibility into a course from the beginning will help to eliminate the need for the retroactive approach of accommodating students with disabilities who will take a course in the future.
Distance Learning courses are currently offered through Blackboard Learn, which received Gold Level certification for accessibility from the National Federation for the Blind. For information about the accessibility of this Learning Management System, visit Blackboard's Accessibility Webpage.
Distance Learning and Instructional Media Services offers workshops every semester focusing on accessibility and accessible materials development. Visit the Professional Development page to view upcoming workshops.
