Welcome to Instructional Media
The primary responsibility of the Instructional Media Department is to provide services that support the teaching and research efforts of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg . This includes the development and support of "state of the art" media resources, systems, networks, and equipment.
Services: To help support this mission, our professional staff provides Audio/Visual technologies in all on-site classrooms. Each classroom is equipped, at minimum, with an overhead projector, television monitor, and VCR. Instructors may arrange for other standard Audio/Visual equipment as needed through a written or ONLINE request. The Media Center staff can also assist with film showings, video taping services, portable public address systems, and other Audio/Visual support for institutional activities.
The Instructional Media Center: The Media Center also makes available a large array of media and distance education technologies. Our department provides 6 large and small group listening and viewing rooms for all audio and video formats, a graphics lab, a studio and control room, production room, dubbing and archive room, storage and repair rooms, and an instruction materials center with juvenile collection reading area that seats 44. It also provides for duplication of copyright compliant learning resources, such as language instruction exercises, for student and faculty. Recently acquired computer technology allows for digital storage and duplication of audio and video learning resources. By special agreement, faculty may interlibrary loan materials provided they are owned by one of the libraries in the USF Library System . Borrowing media from outside of the USF Library System is not possible. As with loans of books or journal articles, there is no guaranteed delivery date of media materials. The loan period for media materials is 7 days unless prior arrangement is made. It is suggested that you request Media 14 days in advance of its need.
