Becoming a Member of SAPL

The Society for Advancement of Poynter Library (SAPL) forms a link between the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library and the community by allowing patrons not affiliated with USF to check out library materials. The most important goal of SAPL, however, is to increase communication between the Library and the students, faculty, and citizens it serves, and to work for the improvement of the resources and services the Library offers. The generous support of SAPL members has helped the library obtain furniture and equipment, and has subsidized specialized training and workshops for library staff when other funds were not available. SAPL donates funds for the yearly purchase of notable new fiction for the Poynter Library collection and contributes as well to the library's special collections. The Society's other activities include the annual SAPL Book Fair, a short story contest for USF students, and library-related lectures or other events. Since 1984, The Society for the Advancement of Poynter Library worked to strengthen the library's mission to the campus and community. We cordially invite you to become a SAPL member and share your interest and support.
